About

The Vegan Dessert Cookbook

Hilary Fasen’s first word as a baby was “nana,” for her favorite gourmet mashed banana dessert.  Ever since, she has been hooked on food, and especially desserts.  Even as a child, she learned from her mother to always bake with fresh ingredients and  from scratch.  However as she got older, she became lactose intolerant and could no longer enjoy her beloved favorites like pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate crème brulee.  Hilary has been a vegetarian for many years and over time she decided to better her personal health by cutting back on dairy and eggs, especially in desserts.  But her cravings to make and enjoy fresh, homemade desserts never deserted her and after many hours experimenting in the kitchen with vegan desserts, she is now eager to share the results.  This is her first contribution to the dessert world.  She hopes to eventually create a vegan dessert cookbook.  In the mean time, she is happily selling her desserts at a local restaurant in Pacific Palisades, California.
